Last Weekend of August - Demolition Derby & Outdoor Concert

1st Year of Hosting an Annual Demolition Derby at Spruce Point Park

The 2009 Demolition Derby (previously known as Widewater Demolition Derby) was a smash success for the three hardworking and innovative volunteers that spearheaded event operations for the entertainment highlight of Fall 2009 at Spruce Point Park; no different than they as the event managers and organizing demolition derbies at many locations over the last decade.   With 2009 attendenace exceed 7500+ spectators and participants in the two day event, the 2010 entitled "Bash By The Lake" will expand one additional day; creating a Friday, Saturday, Sunday marathon event for the last weekend of August.  So be sure to book your "All-Wekend Camping Package that includes tickets to the "Bash By The Lake" and your campground campsite - And do so quickly!  This event grows by leaps and bounds every year!  All money generated by the event is paid out in event winner prize money, and split with community non-profit societies that contribute volunteer workers hours helping making the event fun, exciting, and memorable!

Pictures below come from the 2009 - Spruce Point Park Demolition Derby events.  If you would like to register, or find out the car rules for competition in the derby, be sure to check out the promotion site set up for the Demolition Derby; Bash By The Lake 2010 at the event website; RDRpromotions.ca

There are whispers coming out of the organizer's inner circle that one of the soon to be inaugurated into the Canadian Rock & Roll Roll Hall of Fame bands could be performing at the 2010 Bash By The Lake, but we won't have confirmation of exactly who until mid-April 2010 - But keep that inside info "Just between Me & You", OK? <wink> More details to come at the end of April 2010.

You have been to Craven, Big Valley, or the 'you name the celebration' in the Okanagan Valley through the summer/fall seasons.   Well the "Bash By the Lake" will become just as big as attendance grows!  The best part about it right now is it is still a super cozy crowd of 3,000-5,000 people at this point.  You can still get good camping spots at reasonable prices.  The quality of entertainment is first rate and professional with hundreds of thousands of hours in volunteer work going into the pre-event setup; safety & security, and quality of equipment used for the event operations.  Don't miss out on this August weekend of loud, thrilling, and car crashing fun & excitement pass by!  Bring the whole family! Lots for everyone to see, do, and enjoy!
