The annual 'Bash By the Lake' Demolition Derby & Outdoor Concert is a non-profit event hosted at Spruce Point Park Event Grounds and the event itself is operated by the Lake Shore Motor Sports Association (LSMSA). The background to this annual Demolition Derby goes back quite a few years for this region of Lesser Slave Lake, as the Derby used to be hosted just up highway #2 in Widewater, Alberta as the 'Wide Water Demolition Derby'. In 2009 negotiations with Spruce Point Park, LSMSA was able to move their demolition derby event to the Park's Event Grounds for August 2009. This turned out to be one of the best years for the Derby with over 7,500+ people attending, participating, and volunteering for the two day event. Dozens of non-profit organizations pool together their resources, volunteer members, and work all weekend to make 2009 a running start to establishing the demolition derby as a reocurring annual event at Spruce Point Park. The 2010 'Bash By The Lake' Demolition Derby will even be bigger than last year! This year the event will be three (3) days long, and have many other scheduled activities and shows to take in during the weekend. Be sure to book your All-Weekend Camping Package for August 28, 29, & 30th, 2010. With so many new new attractions being added to the three day event - You will not want to miss this adrenaline filled weekend! Some things you can expect to see with the 2010 Event includes ;
