![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Our Campground campsites are hidden jewels of Spruce Point Park. and the majority of the campsites can not even been seen when arriving at the Park's Gatehouse to check-in. There are very few places in northern Alberta a person can sit on a log on the sandy beach, with their feet playing with the coolness of summer sun heated sand and the cool underlying beach moisture while watching the sunset slowly disappear over a horizon of water belonging to Lesser Slave Lake. ![]() Lesser Slave Lake is the out-doorsman's dream camping location. Lesser Slave Lake supports the praised Walleye, along with White Fish, Northern Pike, Perch, and the odd Ling fish thrown in the mix for good old fashion excitement on any family fishing boat adventure. The Park's campground itself stretches over a little more than two miles of lake front campsites and sandy beaches. You will rarely find you and your family crowded for space on the beaches. Because our Campground stretches along the lakeshore for kilometers, there is always lots of room to enjoy the beaches. If the Marina is full, there are campground guests that moor their boats 150 feet off the lake shoreline, and still only in six feet of water. The shoreline of Lesser Slave Lake is something to be monitored if you have children playing along the beach and in the water. As the lake shore seems shallow for long distances in walking out compared to many other lakes in northern Alberta; but there are sand bars and troughs created with stronger currents that can sweep someone away in the current fairly quickly if they are not prepared for the under two between the lake's sand bars. But with a careful eye, and keeping your family close, and not going out too deep; hours of sunshine fun & recreation are just ahead of you this summer. ![]() During the quite wilderness nights you can hear the owls hunting in the area, the chattering of the youth heading for their tents next to the family RV, and the coyotes howling across the lake, with the evening fire pit stories being shared in each campsite as the sun drops below the lake's horizon. A quiet walk along the evening beach is another experience to enjoy with the lake looking like a sheet of glass and the night's reflections; or save your energy and be one of those early bird's rising at days first light to head out on the lake for a morning fish fry for their family & friends. There are life long family memories waiting to be created at Spruce Point Park, and we say that with confidence as overnight campsite guests return year after year to enjoy the few wonderful days a year they can escape to wonderful lakeside camping. ![]() 2011 is currently predicted to be a very warm & dry summer. This is a concern for us in operating a campground in the middle of the wilderness. Please pay attention to notices of Fire Bans, and other fire pit instructions given to all our campground guests by Park Management. When staying in our campground, you should be familar with the Campground Rules & Regulations, and the location of various services like; ![]()
